Things might slow down during the summer in D.C., but only during office hours. Now as June begins, we’re coming up on the very best of festival seasons, and that means a million different reasons to head downtown for the weekends ahead and take part in an exciting variety of D.C. events.
Friday, June 8 to Sunday, June 17
Featuring more than 100 performances in over 40 venues across town, this weekend-long festival aims to honor the genre’s rich history in D.C. and spread jazz to new listeners across all generations. Listen to sets ranging from up-and-coming artists to star performances as you travel through the city from venue to venue. It gets even better because most of the shows are free.

This philanthropic festival is a can’t-miss event that highlights the unique park of Kingman Island on the Anacostia. Join over ten-thousand guests and enjoy food, drinks, activities and enjoy live sets from some of the nation’s most popular bluegrass bands. All proceeds go toward supporting the sustainability of Kingman Island and the Anacostia River.

Head to “The Bullpen” at Nationals Park for a taste of the best street food the District has to offer. This family-friendly event showcases the hottest food trucks in the city and features live music, cold drinks and much more.
